A View from the Makoro

Soft hues of green and brown blend together in a serene wetland scene. Lilies float gently on the calm river, while clusters of bushes and grasses thrive along the water's edge. Trees stretch across the distant horizon beneath a partly cloudy sky. Inspired by artist Joanie Ford's trip to Africa, which she describes as magical, this piece reflects her experience in the Makoro, a traditional canoe used in the Okavango Delta. The journey gave her a deep sense of freedom and calm, emotions she felt compelled to express through her art.
