Beyond the Tall Grass

This is one in a series of paintings I have lately exploring ponds, waterlilies, koi and goldfish. These fish are Koi from my neighbor's pond. I painted this piece on a wide format as a self imposed challenge to my usual format. I used loose brushwork to try to accentuate the movement of the fish and the fleeting reflections in the ripples.
