Conversation

This painting is based on sketches and studies I did in Japan. One of the treasures of this amazing country is its beautiful and carefully-maintained gardens. Many have water lily ponds. I was also inspired by the people wearing traditional kimonos on the streets. It felt as though time doesn’t exist. In this painting, I tried to capture the feeling of tranquility and serenity that I felt many times in Japan. The sides of this painting on a wood panel are finished in light blue, and it is wired, ready to hang.
