Field XIX

Contemporary landscape of a vibrant sky above a radiating field. The field is loosely painted, creating a lot of interest with depth and contrast without being overly worked. The eye is pulled deep into the painting by both the geometry of the field and by the composition of the sky itself. The palette consists of warm oranges, yellows and greens, with purple hills in the distance. This painting lies somewhere between abstraction and realism. The overall effect is one of calm and yet at the same time there is drama and movement.
