Warm brown underpainting, followed by oil application allows the yellow birds to pop with color. The triptych enhances the subject matter. The sides are a warm taupe brown. The piece is varnished. I have found the bird triptych hang more efficiently without wire by usinf 2 nails per canvas. Each canvas measures 6 x 6. The total triptych measures 6 x 18.
