Kumihimo silk-braided eyewear straps handcrafted by Tokyo-based artist Noriko Yuki. Lightweight yet strong, these delicate and charming straps are perfect for holding reading glasses, prescription glasses, and sunglasses. Select from four different designs/colors. Kumihimo is created by interlacing several to dozens of thread bundles. The beautiful three-dimensional structure creates deep shadows on the surface. Firmly woven by hand, the fabric has a unique tension. Using 100% silk threads dyed in thousands of colors, a variety of styles and patterns are expressed in a single thin string. The process is time-consuming and requires special skills and techniques, assembling it little by little.
