This flavor was inspired by the amazing, black sesame buns that you can find in Chinese and Taiwanese bakeries in LA’s San Gabriel Valley. I love the sweet and savory combination you get from sesame seeds. I also developed this flavor when food coloring-based “black ice cream” was a brief trend. This one has staying power.
