Councilman [Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School, 1892-1921] to Dr. S.B. Wolbach [appointed Head of Pathology at Harvard Medical School in 1922] on front flyleaf. Measures approx. 5.25" x 8". Some browning to spine and light soiling to boards. A list of subscribers/recipients is included in the rear of the volume, indicating the recipient of every numbered copy of this title. (As such, we know that #78 was Councilman's only copy.) Among others, recipients include Henry Huntington (#40), William Gwinn Mather (#1), George Parker Winship (#30), and Bruce Rogers (#34). A variety of book clubs and libraries round out the remainder of the 95 copies, likely making this one of the scarcest titles BR produced while at Rudge.
