The Matrix boot is one of the best new options we’ve seen in a while. It’s a well-made, classically styled boot that comes with plenty of armor, will wear in nicely, and promises years of service. And unlike most plastic-clad adventure-touring options, it doesn’t look completely out of place worn with a pair of riding jeans, but yet it will still hold its own on any kind of motorcycle trip—either on and off-road. True, a Sidi adventure boot or the like uses all that plastic for heavily reinforced ankle support, so in absolute terms a heavy duty adventure boot will offer more protection.
