This is a fabulous piece of Pre Columbian pottery. It is an Olla with humanoid handles, that are figures with covered faces. It has a small flared rim with squared edges and a rounded bottom. This piece is from the Panama - Columbian region, and is circa 800-1200AD. It has wear consistent for its age. It is the traditional "armadillo wear" Pre Columbian composition - terra cotta clay finish. It is also known as Tarrago pottery, or biscuit ware.It measures about 5" tall by 5" wide.This is part of a collection that was purchased out of Western Mass by a life long collector.
