This is a fabulous piece of Pre Columbian pottery. It is an Olla with a narrow rim, decorated with a raised relief design of leaves. This piece is from the Chiriqui region of Panama - Columbian, and is circa 800-1200AD. It has wear consistent for its age. It is the traditional "armadillo wear" Pre Columbian composition - terra cotta clay finish. It is also known as Tarrago biscuit pottery vessel.It measures about 6" tall by 5.5" wide.This is part of a collection that was purchased out of Western Mass by a life long collector.
