This is a gorgeous edition of A Natural History of the Globe, of Man, of Beasts, Birds, Fishes, Reptiles, Insects, and Plants. It is only volume 1 of 5. It has a number of engravings. It's from the writings of Buffon, Cuvier, Lacpede, and other eminent naturalists. It is edited by John Wright - a member of the zoological society of London. It was published in 1831 by Gray and Bowen in Boston.It is a small volume - measuring 6.25" by 4". It is fully bound in leather and has some marks, and scuffs / wear from age and use. The binding is tight and all pages are intact. It has foxing throughout. There are previous owner's inscriptions inside.
