Production Timeline Year Event 1955 Introduction of the Town Plan system and HO scale cars. 1956-1961 Cars were sold as unboxed loose parts, with some exceptions. 1962 Transition to using ABS plastic for production. 1966 Discontinuation of the Town Plan range. Late 1960s Final production of HO scale vehicles ended. Characteristics of HO Scale Cars Scale: The cars are in 1:87 scale, with some trucks in 1:90 scale. Materials: Initially made from Cellulose Acetate, then switched to ABS plastic after 1962. Packaging: Early models were sold in clear plastic garages, which could be integrated into city designs.
