History's Heroes Set
Description Our children are looking for heroes. Where will they find them? In the media? In sports? In politics? Among their peers? They need heroes for many reasons: so that they can learn from them, emulate them, and be encouraged by their character qualities, as well as their adventures. While raising her own children, Amanda noticed that they didn’t have the same kinds of heroes she had as a child. Her children’s heroes came in plastic packages from the store. They were not connected with anyone who had lived a life of real adventure and challenges. That bothered her, so she set out to help them discover “real” heroes. She discovered several books from long ago that taught about all kinds of heroes–heroes of Christianity, heroes of inventions, heroes of chivalry, and heroes from America’s history. This set includes: Heroes of America Heroes of American History Heroes of Chivalry Heroes of Christianity Heroes of Invention In this series of story collections, Amanda has included stories of heroes throughout history for today’s students. Unlike her unit studies, these stories simply tell the captivating tales of history’s heroes in story format, offering internet links throughout to help provide a better understanding of the geography and people who are mentioned in each one.
