Shirodhara is an Ayurvedic practice that involves gently pouring oil over the forehead and through the hair. This peaceful treatment can comfort body and mind. Specially formulated with sesame and sunflower carrier oils, this soothing blend contains lavender essential oil to further enhance relaxation.   Usage Before performing a shirodhara treatment, warm 2 to 8 cups of Shirodhara Oil to 98 to 104°.The shirokarma treatment incorporates about 10-15 minutes of shirodhara in a 90-minute treatment. The amount of oil used depends on the flow. We suggest using 150 mL oil (5 fl. oz.) in 10-15 minutes, but with a higher flow rate, you could easily double it. A full shirodhara treatment would use about 2 liters (half a gallon or about 8 cups).
