I was in the mood to make something that was pure layout and design ... so I sourced original elements used in the marketing of Herschell Gordon Lewis's "Two Thousand Maniacs" and "Blood Feast." This included contemporary newspaper ads and movie posters, screenshots from teasers, later VHS boxes and whatever else I could dig up. A few text elements were so badly degraded that I resorted to either digging up the matching fonts are just redrawing them. My goal was to create a promotional ad in beginning with the kind of mindset graphic designers would have had when the movie was originally released. But I also wanted something different anything that was actually used in promoting the movie.
