The Portal

The Portal  This print is taken from a photograph of a 20'x30" painting done in gouache. I painted this with my right hand for a conclave held in 1993. It is a vision I had in meditation. In meditation am the person seated in the picture, stood up and walked through the portal. I invite you to meditate on the theme and walk through your own portal to see what you find. The figures and symbols are inconclusive as to personal meaning for each of us. One interpretation is that the seated person, symbolic of mankind, with one hand on the globe-earth, is the link between heaven and earth. We are the ones to help pull earth through the oncoming changes. The man and woman flanking the door may be the male and female aspects of God, or our own dual nature, or divine beings with their own distinctive persona.
