English Name: Unripe Bitter Orange, Chinese Garlic, and Cinnamon Twig Decoction Source: Essentials from the Golden Cabinet (c. 220) Ingredients for 1 bulk herb vacuum sealed bag: Gua Lou (Trichosanthis Fructus) 24g Xie Bai (Allii macrostemi Bulbus) 18g Zhi Shi (Aurantii Fructus immaturus) 24g Hou Po (Magnoliae officinalis Cortex) 24g Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) 6g Suggested dose: 1 bag over 2-4 days. The above dosage is doubled from the original source. Note: Hou Po and Zhi Shi come in a separate bag conforming to the original instructions from the Golden Cabinet. For example, the Golden Cabinet advises to first decoct Zhi Shi and Hou Po with 5 cups of water until 2 cups remain. The dregs are then removed and the remaining three medicinals added to the decoction. This is then brought to a boil for a short period of time.
