While the black-coated surface is consistently present, the bare metal accents are manually ground down at the factory, and the level of grinding differs significantly from bike to bike. This results in variations in width, length, and positioning that I hadn’t encountered in other motorcycle models using the same accent kit design.When I originally created the template, I used an in-shop Scout engine as the reference, but because of the inconsistent factory finishing, some customers are experiencing partial exposure of the bare metal accents beyond the kit’s coverage area. Additionally, the left-side horizontal accents on many Scouts are shorter than the right side by approximately 12-14mm, which required a unique two-piece installation approach.
