May 13th, 1985, Philadelphia police were sent to execute arrest warrants on 4 MOVE members. During this event over 10,000 rounds of ammunition were fired and 2lbs explosives comprised of c4 and tovex were dropped by helicopter on the building. This resulted in the death of 5 children, 6 adults and left over 250 people homeless.  Move was an organization founded around black liberation, animal rights and environmentalism. After several MOVE members were arrested, they lead protests by blasting their demands to release their breathers all day and night over a loudspeaker. After constant complaints about 500 police officers responded to execute arrest warrants on 4 members and remove children who were illegally kept from attending school. After attempts failed to get MOVE to surrender, a 90min gun fight ensued. As nothing was working Major Goode authorized the use of explosives.
