Bruna 'Maje' Pigato Riviera Ligure di Ponente 2022

Is Pigato Vermentino? Is Vermentino Pigato? The debate rages on, but they're related, that's all you really need to know, and that Azienda Agricola Bruna has been producing benchmark Pigato based wines since 1970. Their 7.5 hectare estate, located in the Arroscia valley in western Liguria, is planted mostly to Pigato, with Rossese, Granaccia, Syrah, Barbera and Vermentino making up the rest of their holdings. Planted at 200-300 meters above sea level on stone terraces, it's clear why this region is lovingly referred to as the Maritime Alps. The "Majè" bottling from the estate comes from younger vines and is the earliest drinking offering. Grapes are destemmed, gently pressed and fermented at cold temperatures in stainless steel tanks.
