Cal Cols 'Biko' Pet Nat 2022

Cal Cols is made by a couple in the Penedes who were marching to the beat of their own drum before the natural wine movement came along. Surrounded by commercial Cava producers, they have about 7 hectares under vine and make a living selling their organic fruit, almonds, and produce at local farmers markets.  'Biko' is Pet Nat made from 75% Parellada and 25% Merlot. It's dark and grippy but also fresh and juicy. Go figure. A great bubbly option that's a little different but quite versatile and thirst-quenching. Jonathan Kemp
