Onyx Selvedge Denim

The VANGUARD "Onyx" Selvedge Denim Kimono is uniquely fabricated with 9.5 oz Kaihara Mills Japanese Selvedge Denim. It features a 4-piece jacket with 5-piece pant construction. It is lined and trimmed with vintage 4.5oz “Deadstock” Kurabo Japanese indigo dot denim that is made of 100% Cotton. The collar features a multi-colored “Chain-Stitch” finish, as well as triple needle seams for a stronger, more durable product.  Each Black Onyx Kimono undergoes a meticulous finishing process combining enzyme treatment, stonewashing, and overdyeing to create a timeless, ‘had it forever’ look. This eco-friendly process uses dry washing and vegetable-based dyes, resulting in unique highlights, lowlights, and a patina that evolves beautifully with wear. The kimono is pre-shrunk to ensure zero shrinkage, and natural blemishes are intentional, enhancing its individuality.
