I used a San Mai billet that I thought was Hitachi White and 410 stainless--I was wrong. The billet turned out to be Hitachi White laminated with pattern-welded stainless damascus.   This knife was hand hammered, water quenched and cold-forged. The blade has been etched, highlighting the high-carbon core. The handle is cocobolo. The forge finish, will result in some discoloration.
