A Full Strand of Small Antique Bohemian African Trade Rare Shape Crystal Glass Beads (VB_0791)
On offer is a strand of mixed African Trade beads, which are believed to be of Bohemian origin. These beads were made in the 1800s and traded to Africa. The beads are of unusual shape. Each bead is somewhat dome-shaped, with a convex base. The stringing hole goes through the top 1/3 of the dome, allowing the beads to stack as shown in the photos when strung. On top, most beads are round, but some are oval or rectangular. These are really beautiful beads, in a rare shape, a designer's dream. This listing is for our smaller beads, with most beads graduating from 7mm to 11mm in diameter. There are approximately 190 beads per strand. The strands are approximately 27" long (beads only). The first photo shows a representative strand. The next two - a mix of strands. These three photos were taken in slightly different lighting conditions to show how they can look from transparent and clear to yellowish, to pinkish, depending on the light.
