Glossy Shack Shooter Handplane

This single concave, glossy, fish-shaped handplane is a stunning, performance bodysurfer. We think it's great for getting covered up in the barrel...shacked, as it were. It is made from spruce, Honduras mahogany and rosewood offcuts from the production of Santa Cruz Guitar Company guitars, along with cedar offcuts from Knotty Hole Woodworks and redwood floorboards from the mid-1800s from the historic, Schwann mansion in Santa Cruz, California. This handplane uses Entropy Super Sap Epoxy bio-resin which is made using nearly 40% tree sap. The hand strap is nylon and adjustable. It is covered with offcuts from O'Neill Wetsuit product development, and the wood is shaped with our unique, ergonomic hand fit. The hardware is solid brass. As with all Ventana handplanes, this one floats so you can easily pass it between friends in the waves.
