Cacao Ceremony

Cacao has a long history as a sacred plant medicine to reconnect with the mind, body, and spirit as well as the greater natural world. It is a gentle, heart-opening plant that supports deeper healing and connection-building.  The cacao used in ceremony is mindfully grown and prepared and so more potent than the over-processed chocolate one finds on a grocery shelf. We will brew up a drink of pure cacao and water, with optional sweetener and spices. The natural fat content of the cacao bean helps balance its naturally stimulating effects and facilitates absorption over an extended period of time.  Years ago, when we were living in California, I attended a ceremony that used Heartblood Cacao.  In addition to being delicious, it was incredibly relaxing, and it facilitated a deeply satisfying connection to my soul purpose that is still hard to describe.
