~Spun Cotton SnOwFoLkE~

Each one of my spun cotton snowfolke is entirely handmade in the traditional way of antique spun cotton toys.   Each is intentionally painted and aged for a timeworn look to hopefully, give it the look of an antique spun cotton ornament.Once I have created the shape, I then paint each one lightly, adding sweet little hand-sculpted paper clay noses and black glass eyes. and twirly twig-like wire arms.  Each one is unique and features its own little touches and embellishments such as antique ribbon scarves, tiny antique mercury glass bulbs, glass button beads, vintage tinsel collar, feather wings, an aged crown, little sprigs of cedar, an acorn, and hickory nuts, from our property.  Three of the snowfolke sit atop aged paper mache boxes that I have covered with aged and waxed paper.  Each box is painted and waxed inside as well.  One little fellow is inside a little painted metal and plastic dome.  and one little fellow sits on a thin wooden square that I have covered with aged paper and
