Weeping Lovegrass - Eragrostis curvula - is a quick growing warm-season bunchgrass that was introduced into the U. S. from East Africa. This ornamental grass leaf characteristic gives claim to the name “weeping" lovegrass. Dark green, fine textured, almost hair-like foliage that forms dense clumps. The flowers are olive-purple, maturing to a grayish color, and are quite delicate and move in the slightest breeze. Foliage turns a beautiful bronze-red color after a freeze. Used primarily stabilization and quick erosion control including steep areas. Also, good as an ornamental grass. Its heavy seed crop is usually a good source of food for birds. Averages approx. 40 inches in height Light Requirement: Sun to Partial Shade Seeding Rate: 4-6 lbs. per acre or 2 ounces per 1000 sq. ft.
