Ponytail Palm The Ponytail Palm is actually neither a palm nor a tree, it is actually a member of the Agave family. The bulb-like truck is use to store water. It gets its name from the long leaves that grow from the top of the truck because they resemble a ponytail. This palm is drought tolerant, slow-growing and requires little care. This is a great houseplant for the busy plant parent. Plant Care Prefers bright, indirect light. Allow the top few inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Also prefers a humid environment but can thrive in average household humidity. Non-toxic.
