This Prize Winning Water Sprite represents the ideal of this cultivar and style of tea—in accordance with the centuries-old tradition of this rock tea. In the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian, Water Sprite (Shuixian) is known for it's steadiness, strong energy, subdued flavor, and strong lingering sweetness in the throat. When you smell this tea you'll get loads of sweetness. When you taste it, you might find it missing, until you look for the lingering sweetness in the throat. This is the most prized and most characteristic element of rock charm (yanyun) for which this region is famous.  For those not accustomed to the preferences of Fujian, this Prize Winner might not become a favorite.
