Monarda Citriodora Days to Maturity: 120 Lemon Bergamot is also called Lemon Bee Balm and Prairie Bergamot. A native wildflower and garden favorite. Leaves smell like lemon and long bright purple/pink flowering stalks appeal to bees, hummingbirds and butterflies. Contains citronella and medicinal uses include tea for colds, fevers, sore throat, belly ache and respiratory issues. Bee Balm will self-seed for returning flowers year after year. Planting Instructions: Plant Lemon Bee Balm seeds in early spring to early summer, 1/4" deep, 6" apart. Keep moist until germinated. Or start indoors earlier. Seed Saving Instructions: Collect Lemon Bee Balm seed when seed heads are dry and easily crumble in your hand. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
