Winter Blues Earrings

While covering tender veggie seedlings in preparation for our first freeze of the season, I was feeling the winter blues. How fitting that these gorgeous earrings on my bench can remind me that Winter Blues are not all bad. Nothing compares to the luscious blue-violet color of tanzanites, hand-cut into free-form rose cut ovals. I set them into custom heavy silver bezels. Each stone is surrounded by a free-form oval of heavy square silver wire, textured by hand, each stroke of the hammer delivered with careful intention. Below each oval, another smaller oval bears a hand-sculpted flower to remind me of my garden sleeping in winter. And finally, a tiny tube set, icy sky blue topaz sparkles at the very tip.  Hand-crafted in low-tarnish Argentium sterling silver and surface treated to minimize maintenance of the polished oxidized silver finish.  Hypoallergenic Argentium post and nut backs.
