There is so much information on this stunning silver medal to pique my curiosity. It was given as an award at Bramham College which was established in 1842 by Dr. Benjamin Bentley Haigh and quickly established itself as a credible institution among the Yorkshire public schools. Its traditional education praises were found within memoirs by colleagues and students alike. The school fell into decline after a cholera outbreak in 1869, which took our Dr. Haigh. This medal was earned 5 years after the outbreak. I cannot seem to find a more final end date for the institution. This testament to athleticism and achievement was crafted in 1874 (and proof that the school was still going). The engraving tells us this is a "First Prize for Senior 100 Yds.”, “Awarded to G.F. Potter”, at “Bramham College" for "Athletic Sports" on “9 Sep 1874”, a wealth of information.
