Antique Victorian Emerald Diamond Ring 15k Gold
Emeralds are the color of new spring growth, of lucky shamrocks, and fresh scented pine needles. They’re filled with lore as centuries ago they were believed to invoke magic. They were Cleopatra’s favorite gemstone, and she used emeralds in her royal adornments. Aristotle is rumored to have encouraged wearing emeralds to keep sickness away. I can’t say emeralds hold magical powers but I can say they’re mesmerizing, elegant, and enchanting. This antique late Victorian emerald and diamond ring was handcrafted around 1890. The two square emeralds measure 3.8x3.8x1.8 mm and weigh approximately .45 carats. The three diamonds are old European cuts and add up to .75cttw. The ring face measures 4.9 mm north to south and 19 mm across, it sits 4.5 mm off the finger and narrows to 1.6 mm at the back of the band. This ring is a size 8 and is not hallmarked, we’ve acid tested it at 15 karat gold.I offer free layaway on most items purchased for full retail price, please inquire if you are interested
