Antique Victorian Paste Locket 9k Gold Back and Front

Spring is here again! And, just like every spring I’m always on the lookout for lovely lockets. So you can imagine how excited I was to find this verdant Victorian beauty! Set with sparkling blue and white paste gems in a flower and vine motif, this locket is the perfect way to celebrate nature, and of course, love.A beautiful oval shape with detailed repousse work around the edges of both the front and back, this pristine example it is set with two brilliant blue pastes in flower shaped settings, each accented by hand engraved scrolling vines that are set with a sinuous line of five additional sparkling white pastes. Known for their love of all things symbolic, to the Victorians the color blue was most closely associated fidelity, and white with purity. Worn close to the heart, this would have been a constant reminder of that special someone held inside. A very wearable size as a pendant, it measures 41mm x 26mm and weighs 2.7 grams.
