Art Deco Paste Silver Monkey Brooch

In the low light of candles and dim early electric bulbs would have caused this wonderful brooch to glitter like diamonds. The fabulous movement of the bottom chimp would have sent rainbows around the room, would have drawn every eye. This brooch is both cheeky and beautiful.Hand crafted in the Edwardian era, around 1910-1915, this wonderful brooch is a version of the bar brooch that almost every woman wore at the center top of her blouse. Set with an arrow of hand cut sparkling paste gems, this brooch measures 55 mm from top to bottom and 35.5 mm across, it is marked to the reverse with a makers mark and ‘935’ for fine silver, it weighs 8.3 grams. Sadly, this piece has been a little bit over cleaned, but it’s so wonderful that I was willing to forgive it this little set back, it will only look better and better with age.I offer a 3-5 payment layaway on most items purchased for full retail price, please inquire if you are interested in setting up a layaway.
