Art Nouveau Amethyst Pearl Frame Locket Gold

Those of you who swing by this shop once in a while might know it already, but I have a seriously strong weakness for all things Art Nouveau. Seeing the Metro gates in Paris last spring sent me into a tizzy of delight. When I was in art school (oh, so long ago), all of my notebooks and sketch books were filled with sketches of whiplashes, flowers and and beautiful profiles. So, you can see how I was perfectly helpless when presented with this fantastic Art Nouveau frame locket. This antique Art Nouveau gold locket pendant was handcrafted in England around 1900. It features an ornate golden frame with a whiplash motif, set with seven oval amethysts with a long pearl drop. This English beauty is done all in 9 karat gold kissed with a rosy hue. Each amethyst measures 5 x 3.5 mm. Overall, this piece measures 68 x 36 x 5 mm and it weighs 11.6 grams. It has been acid tested to verify the gold content.
