Edwardian Gold and Opal Bangle Bracelet in 15k Gold
Hand crafted in a light Edwardian style with beautiful gold scrolls and bars, this bracelet is simple yet dazzling. The Edwardians loved opals as ephemeral fabrics and colors were all the rage and the opal seemed to epitomize the style in gem-form!This wonderful bangle was made in about 1900-1910 of 15 karat gold; it is set with an oval cabochon of opal which measures 10x7x3.6 mm and weighs about 1.45 carats. The opal shows a wonderful play of color and is likely a lightning ridge crystal opal from Australia, which at the time was a colony of England, where this bangle was made. This one measures 12.7 mm north to south at the front and narrows 2.9 mm at the back, it weighs 8.7 grams. This bangle would best fit a wrist of 6.25 inches or less.
