Victorian Starburst Diamond Pendant Brooch 3cttw 15k Gold Silver Set

I’m always on the lookout for wonderful diamond starburst pieces and they are certainly getting harder and harder to come by, so I was delighted to find this lovely brooch/pendant.This handcrafted beauty is set with 91 diamonds, of which 36 are rose cuts and 55 are old European cuts, mostly cushion cut. The diamonds add up to about 3.2 carats total weight, they are set in silver and the brooch is backed in 15 karat gold. This piece has a hanger and a removable pin stem and so can be easily worn as a pin or pendant, it measures 34.3 mm north to south and 30.4 mm across and 14.1 mm deep, it weighs 7.4 grams.Made in England in about 1870.Here it is, a love letter, a favor, a plea… but perhaps also a gift?
