Livingston's Yellow Oxheart Tomato

Yellow Oxheart  90 days, indeterminate — Typical of heart-shaped varieties, the plants of 'Yellow Oxheart' tend to be sprawling if not tied up and have wispy leaves. As its name implies, 'Yellow Oxheart' fruit are oxheart-shaped and a beautiful golden-yellow in color. Their size is rather variable, ranging from eight ounces to well over one pound each.  As claimed by the Livingston Seed Company, they were the originator of oxheart tomatoes in the commercial seed industry. The pink-fruited 'Livingston's Oxheart' tomato was commercially introduced in 1926 and this yellow variety was released in 1929. Both are prominently featured on the back cover of their 1933 Seed Annual (see image above). Our original seed was sent to us in 2004 by a seed saver in Pennsylvania named Jeptha Yoder (PA YO J). Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
