Provider Garden Bean

Provider 50 days — 'Provider' is high yielding with plants that have a strong, upright growth habit and pods that are five to six inches long, round in cross section, smooth, and medium-green in color. The seeds are purple. Resistant to bean common mosaic virus (BCMV), Pod Mottle Virus, and some races of rust.'Provider' was bred and released by the USDA Vegetable Breeding Laboratory at Charleston, South Carolina in 1966. It has a complex parentage that includes 'Valentine', 'Logan', 'Ashley Wax', 'Asgrow St. Greenpod' and 'Commodore'. Each ounce is approximately 80 seeds.
