Papua New Guinea Ulya - Washed
We Taste - Golden grahams, cherry cola, rich Humans have been growing crops in the fertile Waghi Valley of Papua New Guinea for at least 9,000 years. Towering mountains create a cool tropical climate built on a foundation of rich volcanic soil. Local smallholder farmers bring freshly-picked coffee cherry to Ulya Wet Coffee Mill from May-July. Through September, the mill pulps, washes, and dries special arabica varieties like Bourbon and Typica. The ripeness, the varities, and the attention to detail in processing all add up to a super sweet character with a little vibrance in a medium-full, creamy body. Medium roasting balances sugar browning character (golden grahams) with rich cooked fruit (black cherry) and warming spice (molasses, cinnamon). Rich, though not roasty, Ulya will impress across all brew methods at a week plus off-roast. Roast: Medium - Good at 6 days off, great at 10 days off-roast.
