The album has a wonderful sense of flow to it, as the duo seem to have perfected the art of orchestrating these undulating rhythmic harmonies of bass, guitar, and drums. Over these lush arrangements, El Ten Eleven develop poignant melodies that are as accessible as they are beautiful. Through lilting arpeggios, the warm tone of Kristian Dunn's doubleneck guitar, and Tim Fogarty's laid-back groove, the atmosphere Transitions exudes is one of warmth. However, El Ten Eleven never let the music slip into blasé mellowness. Instead, the music is marked by shifting textures that imbues the tracks with a steady drive that allows for elegant melodies to take the listener easily from one musical idea to the next.
