M & M Oilskin Bag Kit

British oilskin is a fantastic fabric. Canvas fabric is coated on one side with linseed oil to provide protection from water (useful in the Isles). Carolyn and Roderick have sourced a gorgeous chocolate brown for this kit. Complete with British saddle leather handles and proper rivets, it's a simple sewing project that looks amazing. The kit comes with everything you need, including pre-cut and marked panels. The finished bag measures 17" x 15" x 4" (42 cm x 37 cm x 10 cm). Merchant & Mills is "determined to encourage the world to sew." Founded by Carolyn Denham and Roderick Field, M&M seems to be single-handedly lifting dressmaking out of its association with drudgery and cutesy florals.
