Jean-Claude Bessin - Chablis 1er Cru 'La Fourchaume' 2022

Jean-Claude Bessin's wines are among the most highly regarded in the Chablis. The Bessin vineyards are farmed organically.  Pneumatically pressed with whole clusters. Ambient yeast fermentation in temperature-controlled tank and used oak barrels. Aged an additional 6-8 months on the lees after malolactic fermentation is complete. Blended and aged another few months in tank before bottled. Fining depending on the year, light filtration. Vines plantes from 1959 to 1971. "Pale lemon colour, with a marly note. This is beautifully done, a Fourchaume with class and finesse, and just the right point of reduction.
