Silhouette enhancers of this type are essential to achieving a high-fashion silhouette for the Edwardian Period, ca 1898-1910. This hip and bustle pad features a graduated quilting pattern that helps the garment seem invisible on the body and grommets that were popular to help with "ventilation" since this garment was worn close to the skin and under the corset.This pattern is recommended for "Beginner" sewists. A basic knowledge of sewing assembly is helpful as is a knowledge of how to install grommets into fabric (Sewists may decide to omit the grommets entirely and simply tack-quilt [tufting] instead of using grommets).
