Early New York Silver

Amish Records proudly announces Early New York Silver, a new album from guitarists Lee Ranaldo and Michael Vallera, set for release on March 21, 2025. Ranaldo, a Sonic Youth co-founder, is a key figure in New York’s music scene, while Vallera, a Chicago-based guitarist, composer, and visual artist, explores new territories for electric guitar. Recorded over two sweltering days in July 2022 at 411 Kent in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Early New York Silver captures the raw energy of those improvised sessions. The cozy, living room-like space, curated by New York musician David Watson as part of the Shift series, provided a serendipitously rich room sound. The album distills that renegade spirit, with guitars cutting through the humid air — sharp yet soft, like a razor blade through a cloud. LISTEN
