Who or what shapes your approach to making? Nature, process, raku, wood firing, functional design, sculpture, philosophy, or particular artist — all can serve as sources of inspiration. Through guided discussion and studio practice, you’ll identify and articulate the forces that inform your creative direction and translate them into a cohesive personal statement and body of work. My goal is getting you as an artist to think about this and come up with a solid statement that represents what influences your art and how to implement this into your own body of work. To do this we will explore what other famous potters both historical and contemporary have said about what influenced the
