It is one of the twelve great feasts of glorification of Him who came into the world as God and Man, and of the joyful meeting in the temple of the Old Testament prophets with the Infant Christ. The reverse side of the piece depicts the great saint of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Iveron Theotokos icon of Our Lady, who has another name – the Keeper of the Gate – due to the fact that it is kept above the gates of the Valday Iversky Monastery.
